In December 2003 a cremation ceremony was held in Nepal for a highly revered Tibetan Lama, Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche. For the first time westerners attended what is normally a very secluded Tibetan ritual, including his American wife Khadro. Twenty years ago he had moved to the US, at the suggestion of the Dalai Lama, where he taught Tibetan Buddhism to many western students.
