Nicola’s photography career began in New Zealand, shooting features, portraits and covers for national magazines. She has travelled widely for both her own projects and commissions for Comic Relief and VSA, an international development agency, to places such as Peru,Tanzania, East Timor and the Solomon Islands.

Her work has appeared in numerous publications including the Independent, the British Journal of Photography, Next Level, Ojodepez, and National Geographic. Since moving to London in 2002 her work now includes commissions from the film industry - shooting stills and portraits for such films as Enduring Love and Brideshead Revisited.

A body of personal work titled 'Facade' about the nature of filmmaking has been exhibited in Birmingham and South Africa, and will exhibit at Format Festival in Derby in 2009

Her latest body of work titled Observance has been exhibited internationally in such places as Denmark, New Zealand, France and toured the UK in 2009.
